Price of Gasoline in Mexico |

In driving Baja and Mexico in general many people have asked about
the price of gasoline (gasolina) and or diesel. All fuel PEMEX
stations are operated ands subsidized by the Mexican government.
Gasoline is sold in liters in Mexico. The conversion is 3.785 liters
per US gallon. The cost per gallon varies slightly based on the
current exchange rate but the current price is approximately $2.80
USD per gallon. A significant savings even for smaller cars that
require less than 15 gallons to fill the tank - $20 or more in
savings per fill up.
The price is slightly higher in the border areas and becomes cheaper
the further south you drive.
